Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India Scholarship

PRE-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP
Fresh and Renewal for the Academic Year 2012-2013

For Minority Communities - Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists & Parsis

Who can apply ?

Applications are invited from the students belonging to the minority communities pursuing education from class I to X in Government / Government Aided / Recognized Private Schools / Institutions for Pre-Matric Scholarship to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

Conditions

  1. To be eligible, Student should have scored not less than 50% of marks in previous final examination. In case of Standard-I students, 50% marks requirement will not apply, only the income criteria will be applicable.
  2. The annual income of the student's parents/ guardian from all sourses should not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh (One Lakh). Enclose attested copy of Income Certificate issued by Tahsildar or Original Income Affidavit.
  3. The students who have been sanctioned scholarship for 2011-12 are eligible to apply for renewal for 2012-13, on scoring 50% and above marks in the previous examination.
  4. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
  5. Incomplete Application and Incomplete documents will not be considered.

How to apply?

  1. Download the application form. Last date to download is over now.
  2. Fill up the application form & Submit the same to the concerned school Principal/Head Master on or before 31 July 2012.
  3. The School Head Master / Principal should collect the application forms from the students and, prepare a list in a prescribed format provided by the department separately for fresh and renewal and submit the application forms along with the list of students to their concerned BEOs on or before 11 August 2012.

Process of Sanction of Post-Matric Scholarship
and Important Guidelines / Steps to be followed to avail the Scholarship

Step1

The List of selected students BLOCK WISE & SCHOOL WISE is published on this website. There are 3 lists - Renewal, Renewal-Second List & Fresh-First List. The School HM / Principal must download all the 3 lists of the Block under which their school comes and check the Names of students of their school who have been sanctioned the scholarship.

Step2

The Student / Parent / School HM / Principal must then download the Format-1 (Click here to download) - For students who already have Bank Account with IFSC Code or Format-2 (Click here to download) - For students who do not have Bank Account with IFSC code and want to open a ZERO BALANCE SAVINGS ACCOUNT in Syndicate Bank for ONLINE TRANSFER OF SCHOLARSHIP.

Step3 - For those students who already have a Bank Account with IFSC Code

  1. Use Format-1 to fill the details. For one student, one form must be used.
  2. The details to be filled like Name, District Sl. No., Block Sl. No. and "PRE-MATRIC PERMANENT ID " are published in the sanctioned students list.
  3. All the details asked in the Format-1 must be filled in neatly and correctly.
  4. If the details are not filled in correctly the student will not receive the Scholarship.
  5. The filled in Format-1 must be signed by the Parent / Guardian and Counter Signed by the School HM or Principal and BEO or Cluster Resource Person (CRP) Urdu.
  6. The filled in Format-1 must be then sent by post / courier to "Directorate of Minorities, 20th Floor, V.V.Towers, Bangalore-560001".
  7. Please write on top of the envelope "Pre-Matric Scholarship ONLINE Transfer form"

Step3 - For those students who do not have Bank Account with IFSC Code and would like to open a ZERO BALANCE SAVINGS ACCOUNT in Syndicate Bank for Transfer of Scholarship Amount

  1. Use Format-2 to fill the details. For one student, one form must be used.
  2. The details to be filled like Name, District Sl. No., Block Sl. No. and "PRE-MATRIC PERMANENT ID " are published in the sanctioned students list.
  3. All the details asked in the Format-2 must be filled in neatly and correctly.
  4. If the details are not filled in correctly the student will not receive the Scholarship.
  5. After affixing photograph, the filled in Format-2 must be signed by the Parent / Guardian and Counter Signed by the School HM or Principal and BEO or Cluster Resource Person (CRP) Urdu.
  6. The Format-2 must be submitted to nearest Syndicate Bank. No need to give any address proof or identify proof document like Ration Card or Voter Card , etc... or pay any amount to Syndicate Bank.
  7. If the Bank Manager of Syndicate Bank refuses to accept your application, kindly call 080-22863617 and lodge your complaint.
  8. The Syndicate Bank opens the account instantly under No-Frills (Zero balance).
  9. The Scholarship amount is then credited to this account of the student within 8-10 days.
